CRAFT Framework for LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology Facilitators
In the AI era, LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology facilitators must implement the CRAFT framework, which consists of five core pillars:
Creativity ©: While AI can instantly generate layouts, text, and structures based on existing data, it lacks the spark of true architectural and conceptual innovation. Authentic creativity is a deeply human act of synthesis—drawing from physical, bodily experiences, serendipitous moments, and the willingness to explore unmapped territory. It is the ability to break out of the algorithmic loop and propose something entirely unprecedented, shifting the work from a predictable baseline to a resonant masterpiece.
Relationship ®: AI allows businesses to rapidly scale their outreach from one to many, but people ultimately invest in products because of a forged relationship. The winning strategy involves identifying exactly where to insert high-touch human interactions into your automated AI pipelines to build real trust.
Authenticity (A): People can easily spot cold, rigid AI-generated text (such as an automated response during a time of grief), which instantly destroys trust. True authenticity requires basing your content on your actual voice, soul, and lived struggles, even if it means embracing the discomfort and risk of “looking stupid.”
Feeling (F): AI defaults to safe, neutral, and boring tones. However, highly effective marketing requires polarization and personality to provoke genuine emotions like motivation, anger, or inspiration. Humans must purposefully inject “the edge” into AI content, following the marketing rule that “there’s no money in between” loving and hating a brand.
Timing (T): AI systems output text and media continuously, lacking an understanding of natural pacing. Humans must apply the strategic power of pauses and silence to ensure their messages land deeply and force the audience to actively reflect.
Ultimately, the CRAFT framework proves that while AI is incredibly powerful at doing the structural “heavy lifting,” human emotion, strategic connection, and the willingness to learn remain the un-automatable keys to winning in an AI-first economy.
